Troop 575

Troop 575 meets Monday evening each week at 7:00 pm at the First Baptist Church at 501 Main Street in Wolfforth.

Troop 575 has at least one scheduled Troop activity per month. These are some of the places we have been in the past:

 Caving in Sonora, Texas and Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico

 Live Aboard the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi, Texas

 Snow Skiing in Sipapu, New Mexico

 10 and 20 mile hikes at Caprock Canyon State Park

 Philmont Scout Ranch in 2015, and Florida Sea Base in 2016

 Camping at Palo Duro Canyon, Caprock Canyon, plus many more

 Summer camps attended: Camp Alexander, CO; Camp Athens, TX; Camp Wehinahpay, NM; Camp Sid Richardson, TX and Camp Chris Dobbins, CO

Troop 575 is a Scout led Troop with adult guidance and parental participation encouraged. We participate in several community service projects which have included:

 Scouting for Food

 Adopting a family at Christmas

 Christmas boxes for the Troops

 Supporting Troop Eagle Scout Projects

High Adventure

Troop 575 does not have a separate Venturing Patrol, but we do have an active group of Boy Scouts that are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) that participate in high adventure activities.

The aims of the Boy Scouts of America are to build character, develop citizenship, and foster personal fitness. The High Adventure methods have been carefully designed to achieve the aims of the Boy Scouts of America and meet the needs of young adults.

Methods include leadership, group activities, adult association, recognition, high adventure and teaching others.

More than 70 young men have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout throughout the history of Troop 575. Come be a part of an organization with a mission of preparing young men to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
